National/ Provincial championships training program

全国/级象棋锦标赛训营

Presented by VCS Principal Maxim Doroshenko (2462 CFC): FIDE Master & 2011 BC Champion

VCS is very happy to be running our popular National Preparation Program (NPP) again this Spring, this time online via Zoom. This program is run by previous National Champions who know what it takes to reach success at the highest levels. An intensive yet fun course, students of all ages and levels are encouraged to participate. While titled National Preparation, this program is suitable for all students who are looking to add to their weekly chess class with supplemental training, get ahead of their peers and increase their rating quickly.

NPP Spring 2021 Program

This Spring's online program will consist of a weekly lesson via Zoom, and homework submitted to students' accounts. Topics to be covered include Opening Repertoire, Endgame Technique, Tactics and Positional Strategy. There will also be a monthly class tournament played online, in which all NPP students are automatically registered. This gives students an excellent opportunity to increase their rating for promotion to the next level in their group class.

This course always fills up quickly so register now to save your spot!

·       Practice games using the same time control as Provincial/National championships

Training will be provided in:

·       Opening preparation

Students will also have the opportunity to play rated games with post-game analysis, a key training method for any tournament preparation.

ONLINE HOMEWORK

Online homework after each session is a key component in this program to ensure the participants have opportunities to review what they have learnt. We request the students to complete the homework as mandatory exercises in this program.  Students can work at their own pace and work through the weeks until the next workshop.  Coaches are available to help if any questions arise.
