Welcome to VCS Sunday Chess Club! 

Embark on a timeless journey through the world of chess with Vancouver Chess School's Sunday Chess Club. Available throughout the year, our club offers a continuous adventure into the realm of chess, ensuring every Sunday is filled with strategy, learning, and fun. Immersed in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where learning and competition merge into a thrilling experience for students of all grades P-12. To make your Sundays even better, we're offering free pizza for all participants, providing a perfect opportunity to socialize and enjoy pizza as you communicate with friends!

Club Overview:

When: Sunday, 1:00pm – 5:00pm

Where: Vancouver Chess School, Jericho Village Shopping Centre # 312-2083 Alma Street, Vancouver, BC
Who: All grades P-12 (Basic knowledge of chess required)

Dynamic Chess Activities:

Engage in varied and exciting chess tournament formats such as Rapid, Blitz, Blindfold & Bughouse. Solve challenging chess puzzles, analyze games, and participate in chess simultaneous exhibitions. Play opening, middle game & endgame thematic tournaments. Complete your homework under the supervision of VCS instructors.

Club Features:

Flexibility: Come and go as you please! Our club is designed for optimal convenience, allowing students to join and leave activities at their own pace.
Variety: From thematic tournaments like Sicilian Defense practice to fun twists like Bug House and Chess960, we have something for everyone!
Experienced Coaches: Our seasoned coaches will supervise all activities, ensuring a safe, educational, and highly entertaining experience.

Important Information:

Drop off/Pick up: Arrive between 1 pm-5pm. Attendees must be signed in at drop-off and signed out at pick-up by authorized individuals.
What to Bring: Bring snacks and water; please remember, we are a nut-free zone!
Gadgets: Kindly leave your electronic gadgets at home.

Relax and enjoy four hours to yourself every Sunday while your child explores the fascinating world of chess!

VCS reserves the right to use photos taken during events for promotional purposes unless written requests are received from parents to exempt their child’s images.
