VCS Monthly Class Championship

Participants of the National Preparation Program are automatically preregistered to this event every month, guaranteeing a broad and high level of competition available at each tournament.

If you have participated in our Quad tournaments and are ready for a new challenge, the VCS Monthly Sectional Tournament, open to all junior players, is the perfect next stepping stone to even higher-level tournaments. With 5 rounds in one day allowing for a CMA rating, this is the perfect opportunity to test out new strategies and sharpen tactical skills against opponents of the same class. Classes will be defined based on the number of participants to have 8-12 players per class.

VCS coaches, many of whom are past national champions themselves, will be available onsite for post-game analysis and to offer encouragement and advice to all players. 

Location: 312-2083, Alma st. (Jericho Shopping Centre)

*Door opens at 1:45 pm only. Tournament hall is located on the 2nd floor, room 312 

*Free Street parking and underground parking is available 

              Please show up at least 5 minutes before round starts. We will start the clock according to the schedule shown below.         

Time Control: Game/25minutes with 5 seconds delay

Chess  notationis optional.  Chess sets and clocks are provided.

Individual Tie Breaker  个人决胜局: 

1. Direct Encounter (Head to Head) 

2. Cumulative score 

3. Opposition cumulative score 

Bye request: If you cannot attend all rounds, maximum of 2 half point byes (except last round) is allowed. Please email us with your request or inform TD at least 24 hours before round starts

Registration fees:  $40 

Sibling discount $10 off for 2^nd member or higher in the family

No onsite registration is allowed. All participants must register and pay online in advance for pairing purposes.
