BCCF JUNIOR CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2013

 

ee   Open to all B.C. Juniors (born after: Jan 1, 1994)

 

Sections:   3 sections

• Championship (CFC 1500 & above)
• Reserve (CFC 1000 – 1499 or NWSRS 900 – 1499) 
• Booster (Open to all Grades K - 12 only) 

Bye request:   Maximum 2 requested ½ point byes (except last round) at least ½ hour before the rounds starts

Ties for non-cash prizes will be broken using tie-break systems (direct encouter, individual cumulative score, followed if necessary by cumulative score of opponents)

(Chess sets and clocks are provided)

1) Championship Section requires a minimum rating of CFC 1500 or approval of TD to enter.

The champion receives the perpetual champion trophy for the year as well as qualification to play in the BC Closed 2014.

 

Cash Prizes: 1st place-$200            2nd place-$150            3rd place-$100

Time Control: G90 minutes + 30 seconds increment. Registration fee:  $50 ($10 off for 2^nd or higher member of the family)

 

Date: November 8, 9 & 10 (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) Check in: Friday 5:30-5:50pm

Round times:       Friday 6:00 pm       Saturday 12:00pm & 4:30pm      Sunday 10:00am & 2:30pm

Format:  5 Rounds Swiss System. CFC & CMA rated. (CFC membership required)

2) Reserve Section for ratings from CFC 1000 – 1499 / NWSRS 900 - 1499

 

Top 3 finishers will receive a trophy

Time control: G60 minutes + 30 seconds increment. Registration fee:  $40 ($10 off for 2^nd or higher member of the family)

 

Date: November 8, 9 & 10 (Friday, Saturday & Sunday)   Check in: Friday 6:10-6:20pm

Round times:    Friday 6:30 pm      Saturday 12:00pm & 3:30pm      Sunday 10:00am & 1:30pm

Format:  5 Rounds Swiss System. CFC & CMA rated. (CFC membership required)

3) Booster Section (Open to all Grades K - 12 only)

 

Top 3 finishers will receive a trophy in each section

Time control: G25 minutes + 5 seconds delay. Registration fee:$25 ($5 off for 2^nd or higher member of the family) 

 

Date: November 17 (Sunday)   Check in: Sunday 9:30-9:50am

Round times:    Sunday 10:00am,   11:05am,   lunch 12:05-12:25pm,   12:30pm,   1:30pm,   2:30pm,   Award 3:30pm or ASAP

Format:  K - 12th grade, 13 sections. 5 Rounds Swiss System. CMA* & NWSRS* rated.
